How Does Profhilo® Work?
hyaluronic acid is injected into the area. Unlike dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin. The stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by a slow release of hyaluronic acid. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
Are the results instant?
After injecting into the skin, Profhilo starts to work immediately, creating volume evenly over the following 24 to 48 hours. The product remains in the skin for about 28 days, in which time it continues to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin by slowly releasing the HA. This creates a ‘dermal scaffold’ that tightens and lifts the skin, while also boosting skin tissue quality through the HA’s hydrating and stimulating action. For optimum results you need two sessions 4 weeks apart. The best results are seen around two weeks after the second treatment.
Are there any side effects?
With this procedure involving fewer injection points and a more biocompatible product, Profhilo has worked to minimise downtime from this treatment. Immediately after injection, you will be able to feel the product but it will start to diffuse very quickly and feel softer by the following day. Bruising and swelling can happen after treatment and should disappear in a short time depending on the skin and bodies healing process 🤍
