Blemish Removal Using Advanced Cosmetic Procedures

Advanced cosmetic procedures is a new adaptation of an existing well established and safety proven treatment, namely electrolysis. Electrolysis in its usual form is best known as a hair removal procedure which works by passing an electrical current into the root of the hair follicle and killing it. However, electrical current can also be used to remove skin blemishes such as skin tags, warts and thread veins. The electrical current passes down a probe and into the skin where it effectively cauterises the blemish enabling it to be removed without surgery.

This treatment has been successfully used for many decades having started in the early 1900’s where electrolysis was often used to treat broken capillaries, warts, spider naevi, port-wine marks and even xanthoma (yellow pigmented spots on the eye lids). So you can imagine how far theses simple treatments have progressed since then. There are unfortunately, many clinics who still charge hundreds of pounds for a single blemish removal, usually because they cannot offer advanced cosmetic procedures which are much quicker and more comfortable than surgery or cryo treatments. Here at FAB Aesthetics we successfully treat many skin anomalies using advanced cosmetic procedures for a fraction of the costs charged by many clinics.

Thread Veins (Telangiectasia) Treatment
Common on the face and legs as we age, these are either broken or permanently dilated capillaries, which are the smallest blood vessels we have. They have very thin walls which constantly dilate and constrict. As we age, these vessels lose their elasticity and can become permanently dilated. Ageing, pregnancy, smoking, energetic sports, harsh weather and hormones are just a few of the many causes.

Blood Spots Cherry Angiomas or Hemangiomas) Treatment
These are bright red vascular blemishes which lie just under the surface of the skin. They are dome shaped or slightly raised. They’re commonly found on the torso but can appear anywhere. Most people over the age of 30 have at least one, and they are more common in men. Advanced cosmetic procedures can usually remove these unsightly veins in a single appointment

Spider Veins (Spider Naevus) Treatment
A spider Naevus is a central dilated blood vessel which has smaller capillaries coming from it, like the legs of spiders. They can be on their own or clumped in groups on the cheeks, legs and other areas.

Skin Tags (Verruca Filiforms, fibroepithelial Polyp/Papilloma or Filiform Warts) Treatment
Skin tags are very common and are mainly found on the neck, under the arms and in women they are common under the breasts and the bikini line. They often appear with a neck somewhat like a mushroom and vary in size. They can be smaller than a grain of uncooked rice or larger than a broad bean. They are mainly caused by friction, for example around the neck where necklaces and collars rub the skin.

Warts Treatment
There are various types of wart which all differ in appearance. We are able to treat all warts including common, plane, seborrhoeic (age related), verrucas etc. We have found in our experience that warts on the hands and feet respond better to freezing we we cn also offercan easily and successfully be treated with ACP techniques. Warts can develop either individually or in clusters. Seborrhoeic warts can grow up to two inches across and are sometimes referred to as ‘Senile’ warts, as they are more associated with age.

Milia Treatment
These are tiny hard white lumps containing keratin which lie just under the surface of the skin. They are easily treated with ACP technology. Their actual cause is unknown, but they’re often found on people with dry or acidic skin.

Sebaceous Cysts (Steatomas) Treatment
Also know as keratin cyst, epidermal cyst or epidermoid cysts, these are usually small bumps that sometimes affect one’s neck, face, genital area and trunk. The cheese-like, oily substance is due to hair follicles that were once damaged and swelled up, or a skin trauma such as an injury. These are slow growing, painless lumps beneath the skin that become tender and inflamed
