When you have a hot water bath or shower this removes oils from your skin. Keep the hot water contact with your skin to a minimum and opt for cooler temperature baths and showers.
If you can, try to avoid strong scented soaps as these also strip oil from your skin. Not only that but some fragrant products can irritate your skin cause itching, rashes and spots.
When shaving, make sure you protect and lubricate your skin before and during as this will help the process and reduce the likelihood of cuts. Apply lotion or gel before shaving for a smoother shave.
After a shower or a bath, instead of rubbing your body dry, pat.
We cannot stress enough the importance of moisturising your skin. It's so important to keep your skin hydrated and moist.
A great skincare routine to get into to ensure healthy looking skin is by washing your face twice a day and gently exfoliating your skin once a week.
We’ve all heard this many times, but sleep is so beneficial for being and feeling healthy. It is particularly great for healthy skin. Try to get into a routine, schedule in an earlier bedtime and unwind, making sure you get the hours of rest and sleep that you need.
This can be from taking regular walks outside, doing exercise, or adding more plants into your home and opening the window for fresh air. Never underestimate the benefits of clean air!
This probably goes without saying, but exercise has huge benefits on making your skin healthier.
For healthy skin, you need to keep hydrated throughout the day. The recommended amount is drinking between 1L - 2L per day.
