Before the coronavirus lockdown, the vast majority of us in the UK were kept incredibly busy juggling high-demanding jobs or studying alongside our personal and home life. The pace of our society was ‘go, go, go’ with many of us rarely taking moments to truly appreciate simple pleasures and pastimes. They simply fell to the bottom of our to-do list and were rarely given a second thought.
One of the many things that perhaps took a backseat, was the attention and care we paid to our daily, weekly and monthly skincare routines. If you’re like me, then pre-covid your skincare routine was practically non-existent. The intent was there, but the execution was often overlooked due to a busy schedule.
Currently the whole country is on lockdown and we can’t have salon skin treatments, but what we can do is turn to home care alternatives in the meantime. A skin treatment will give you 40% of your results, whereas home care products will give you 60% of your results. During this period of uncertainty, there are a lot of things in the world that we cannot control. But the one thing we can control is how healthy and better our skin feels and looks.
Take back control of your skincare routine with these 3 steps:1. Get into a morning and evening skincare routineWhen trying to start any new beauty or skincare regime, it's important to get into a routine. Regularity allows home care products to really take effect and for you to see results. Plus, when we get into a routine, we’re more likely to stick with it as new habits begin to form. Morning - start by cleansing your face with a cleanser, before applying serums, eye gels and creams and a moisturiser. Evening - before going to bed make sure to take off any makeup and cleanse your face. At this point, you can also use a face mask or peel before applying serum and moisturiser. 2. Go natural and give makeup a skipPart of the lockdown guidance means that we’re unable to meet up with friends and family that we don’t live with. Let's be real people, the reason why many of us wear makeup is to go out and about and meet up with others. With this taken out of the equation, it gives us the freedom (and permission) to not wear makeup for a bit. We can all take a breather from the product, and wear little to no makeup around the house. 3. Give DIY face masks a tryNow, more than any other time is the perfect opportunity to get your craft on in the kitchen and make yourself a DIY face mask treat. Not only does it give you something to do at the weekend - as some of us are running low on activity ideas! But it also is a great way to treat your skin. There are lots of simple recipes to follow for a face mask, or a hair mask, to help you feel rejuvenated and fresh. The easiest face mask to rustle up is by using avocado - mash it up, add a little honey and yogurt until it becomes a paste and apply the mask, leaving for 10 to 15 minutes until it dries out. You can also treat yourself to a pumpkin peel. This helps to remove the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and regenerate cells under the skin. A pumpkin peel also helps with ageing and any damage your skin may have by drawing out any impurities under the skin to improve your overall skin tone and texture. Contact FAB

During the lockdown days, things were so depressive and intense that I was not able to take care of Beauty & Skincare Routine. However, I have started working on things again since I want to get a fresh and pure look.
